PARKluxe 2015 Recap
(photos by: Binzento)

It was another great season of PARKluxe, Calgary’s largest running
fashion event that showcases both established and emerging Canadian fashion
designers. Amidst the fashion week season, it was certainly a good time to
embrace and celebrate the talents that we have locally. In addition to long
time PARK favorites Caitlin Power, Paul Hardy, Malorie Urbanovitch and Laura
Siegel, this season’s fashion show had introduced some newcomers to PARKluxe runway such as House of Nonie,
Travis Taddeo, and Eliza Faulkner to the designer roster.
Presented by Bankers Hall, this year PARKluxe again took advantage of
the Calgary’s latest hip location, East Village by Bow River, beside the
historic Simmons Building. The usual long program didn’t seem to be a drag at
all. In fact, with the interesting trunk show vendors including Malika, Paul
Hardy, Travis Taddeo, Caitlin Power and Kate Hewko and well engaged VIP section
where I got to mingle with some of my closest friends in this city, the evening
was actually well entertained. My favorite collections of the evening were House of Nonie, Malorie Urbanovitch and Travis Taddeo. The easily distinguishable aesthetics
stood out overall during the show.
It is evident that the PARK
team has taken our past feedbacks into consideration, making this event only
better than the last. Congratulations to them on the success of PARKluxe 2015,
and the city is good to have a Canadian-design focus organization that
continues to provide the platform for fashion talents to express their work in western
Canada.
