It’s true that the French knows how to host dinner parties! The white-themed global event,  Dîner en Blanc is coming back for its 3rd season in YYC. As a witness to this pure spectacle, I can assure you that Diner en Blanc creates unforgettable memories – Thousands of attendees gather at a secret location to be revealed the day of the dinner event, dressed head to toe in white ensemble, wine and dine, and party, the French way.

Perhaps one of the most difficult tasks to prepare for Dîner en Blanc is not searching for white tables and chairs but to decide on what to wear to dinner. My Vinegar Designs Lab team has been invited this time to partner with Diner en Blanc to create a mini-series of “what-to-wear” fashion campaign, photographed by Paul M. Lee, styled by yours truly, graphic design by Jack Lee and modeled by some of our fabulous Diner en Blanc members (Zoe, Elle, Jay, Jordan and Katy). The classy and clean full-on white style does not necessarily mean it’s monotonous and boring. “La toile blance vivante” – Just like a piece of ‘living-white canvas – Never be shy to have some creativity and paint yourself a little fashion-flare! Here are some of my picks and where to find these items:

Back On The Racetrack - The 2nd Annual Packwood Grand YYC

The 2nd Annual Packwood Grand

It was a day at the newly opened Century Downs horse racetrack, right beside CrossIron Mills - The 2nd annual Packwood Grand happened on July 1st on Canada Day. One of the most highly anticipated events this summer, Packwood Grand attracted more than a thousand Calgary’s highly cultured, business leading, and fashion forward young professionals to attend. Whether it’s the organization, food or entertainment, this year’s event to me was a big improvement. The weather was fantastic that day, with lots of sunshine and just enough breezes to cool off the heat. Also this time I got to actually watch the horse races and not missing every single one of them like last time. As for the fashion, it was nice again to see couture hats flocking the scene, but I’ve got to say the men have really step-up their sartorial game this year. With generous amount of delicious roast, a stylish crowd that knows great wine, and a luxurious party that showcased exhilarating standard-bred horse races, what a great way to celebrate Canada Day with friends.
