Paul Davis Fall 2015
Canada's East Coast Meets Traditional Englishmen

Canada’s Labrador deadliest
catch sea captains have just found themselves inspiring the latest season
of fashion. Canadian fashion designer Paul
Davis crosses over the refinement of traditional English tailoring with
another side of Canadiana-culture which we often forget in his latest Fall 2015
collection.
“As the residents of Trinity Bay, Newfoundland
gazed-out at the approaching ship, they didn't realise it would bring with it
one of the greatest achievements in modern history. When the transatlantic
cable was first hooked-up to the small fishing community, suddenly the entire
continent could communicate with Europe. It was a new notion of speed and time
that nobody had known before.
The Paul Davis Fall 2015 Collection
takes its inspiration from this rugged, far-flung place on the Atlantic coast
and ignites it with the traditional styles from across the water. Creating a
perfect storm of hybrid pieces and silhouettes, it is a down-to-earth yet
sophisticated take on modern menswear.

Water, rubber and copper themes run throughout the collection, from ripple-effect
cashmere overcoats to the label's signature moiré accents. Woolen mariner's
coats hang next to polymerized parkas and wet-look raincoats. An
iceberg-coloured suit highlights the collection while fun colour splashes
contrast with the dark indigo, forest and burgundy palette.”
