Martin Margiela Artisanal 2015
Martin Margiela's 2015 Artisanal collection is a process of discovery and returning to one’s roots.
As often true within Margiela's line of work, the true beauty lies within the soul of the designs, and without fail each piece is executed beautifully. Piece by piece, the collection demonstrates both deconstructing of the familiar and constructing a new story for Margiela.
A deep commitment to the extraordinary possibilities of the Maison’s Atelier and the art of Haute Couture, the showcase revealed a powerful and fierce, yet refined mix of fabrics and materials.
New direction is given with play on proportion and sartorial rules, with a new fuller and revealing silhouettes - a jigsaw of lacquered shells reminiscent of Arcimboldo style figures.
Pearls that bring teardrops of memories to the face; Looking through the glass, discovering an elusive, rare even arrestingly strange new beauty, of muses who nonchalantly arouse your senses. All and all, Margiela's latest artisanal collection displays a world deep in its past but with promises of the future.
