Canadian retailer Holt Renfrew has partnered with the French Embassy to debut a new photo exhibition called "LuxInside, Traces Of Man". By combining art, fashion and science, LuxInside takes our eyes to a tour the insides of iconic luxury objects. Like having a X-ray vision, the audience can pierce through the outer appearance into the inner qualities of luxury objects and from there hopefully be able to find the traces of the man who was inspired to design them.
Below is the exhibit overview:
"The aesthetic of these presentations aims to decipher the importance of the transfer of expertise and the excellence of craftsmanship, in addition to the inventions that govern the development of a luxury object. 14 outstanding pieces have been artistically "diagnosed," including: the new Hermès saddle, Christian Louboutin stilettos, Saint-Louis Crystal, the silversmithing of Christofle or S. T. Dupont, legendary Cadolle lingerie, Saint-Gobain smart glass, gloves designed by Lavabre Cadet, Pierre Corthay shoes, a Leica camera, Dyson technology, a Gibson Guitar, an innovative design by Mathieu Lehanneur, and Louis XIII cognac de Rémy Martin. The photographs will be on exhibit with the actual luxury object and museum like explanation."
LuxInside exhibition is opened to public for viewing inside Holt Renfrew Calgary location (2nd floor women's) until August 4th. A opening cocktail reception was held the past week where guests got the first glimpse of the photograhy collection.
