Calgary Stampede x Paul Hardy = The Unique CS Mercantile Pop-Up

The CS Mercantile Launches Pop-Up Boutique At Calgary Stampede
(photos: Binzento)
Canadian international fashion designer Paul Hardy is giving his creative mind to the Calgary Stampede, launching the first flagship CS Mercantile, an unique pop-up boutique carrying exquisite collections of urban-western style fashion, gifts, accessories, home decor and confectionary.

The featured collection at CS Mercantile is curated by Paul Hardy, or as he calls it: "Paul Hardy's favorite things (for Calgary Stampede)". His vision of the modern-western lets what seems to be dated and rigid western styles look chic all year round. Instead of being like any conventional western-inspired product, the CS Mercantile collection speaks stories that connect with people from all over the world. You'll find items that are hand-crafted by artisans from different continents half way across the globe and some pieces are even made exclusive to CS Mercantile.

The first impression of the pop-up boutique experience is excitment, given it has a different approach on traditional western classics - it's an experimental idea that brings an edgier flare to Calgary. My personal favorites among Paul's favorite things were the hand-sculpted hand-made soap, western-inspired horse head rings and necklace, the playful Denver's rocket ships cowboy shirts and the revived historic Parisian doctor's turned fashion bag.
The first wave of CS Mercantile has been opened for business at Paul Hardy's design studio for the past month, and June 28th will be its last day. But don't worry, the official CS Mercantile Stampede launch will begin on July 3rd and throughout the 10-day Stampede celebration on Stampede Ground. The online shopping service will also go live on July 3rd. Don't miss the opportunity to check it out - Oh and if you haven't notice, Binzento had been invited to be a part of the CS Mercantile campaign. The campaign will be up on a 30 ft wide window display at the Calgary Stampede pop-up location. :-) For additional read, please visit this blog post on Calgary Stampede site HERE.

Calgary Hosts Packwood Grand on Canada Day
(photos: associated press)
Here's an event that got everyone talking this spring and summer - the first annual Packwood Grand will hit the Millarville Racetrack on Canada Day, July 1st. Thanks to the event producers: Tyler Rygus and Cory Edwards (Packwood Grand), Katy Bond (BondPR), Allison Robert (Craft Beer Market) and Jay Skelly (Holt Renfrew), Packwood Grand gives the unique opportunity to connect highly cultured, business leading and fashion forward young professionals to enjoy a day at the horse racetrack and show off their knowledge of fine music and couture.
Cameras are ready to roll as we're assured to see extravagant fedoras and fascinators flocking among the ladies in their elegant dresses, while the gentlemen suit up in their best sartorial attires. Perhaps guests can also test their luck that day placing bets on their ponies of interest. It's a high energy social affair that will give everyone a memorable experience. If you still haven't decide on what to wear, here are some images for inspiration.
And for those who are unable to make it this year, be sure to stay tuned on Binzento's social media (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook) for the latest coverage during the day of the event. And if you are curious - Here's the link to teaser reel of the Packwood Grand.

Tiger of Sweden Presents Spring Summer 2015 Collection at London Collections: Men

Scandinavian Fashion Brand Moves Catwalk Show from Stockholm to London

Tiger of Sweden's SS15 collection drew inspiration from The Warriors.
Following more than 10 seasons at Stockholm Fashion Week, Spring Summer 2015 saw Tiger of Sweden – the Scandinavian fashion brand that took the suit out of the bank and onto the street – move its catwalk show to London.

“Since re-entering the UK market more than three years ago, London has become a second home for Tiger," said
David Thunmarker, CEO of Tiger of Sweden. "We love the city for its energy, creativity and its rich fashion heritage. We are proud to become a part of the LCM story.”

For Spring Summer 2015, Tiger of Sweden drew inspiration from the cult film The Warriors. The ‘Tiger Gang’ of SS15 looks to the nighttime adventures of the film’s New York gangs, with tailoring that exudes a rock and roll attitude and a tough elegance. It is a collection created to be worn all hours, just as with the warriors’ own 24/7 gangland attire.

The colour palette references the night, with a focus on black, white and shades of grey. The city landscape is a key reference, with brighter colours such as petrol and rust breaking through the monochrome and a use of prints, inspired by the street art and graffiti from the film.

Always focusing on Tiger’s trademark brand philosophy, ‘A Different Cut’, the dominant silhouette this season is slim, sharp and strong. Blazers are cut short with a slim-cut trouser and outerwear has evolved to a more relaxed fit for the spring. Notably, SS15 also sees the introduction of a new shape for Tiger, a slightly over-sized and elongated suit shape.
