Orla Kiely, ‘The Queen of Prints’, Collaborates with British Brand Clarks on Her First-Ever Shoe Collection

Spring/summer 2014 sees a very natural collaboration for Clarks, working with ‘Queen of Prints’ and celebrity style favourite Orla Kiely, on a capsule collection of six shoe styles. As an acclaimed print designer, renowned for her graphic design and love of pattern, colour, texture and rhythm, Kiely has collaborated with Clarks on her first-ever footwear collection.
Previewing at London Fashion Week in September 2013, this exclusive capsule collection features styles for every woman; including a high-block heel with platform, two beautifully feminine mid-block heels, an elegant mid-wedge, a slingback with oversized buckle detail and a fabulous slingback Mary Jane. The collection fuses Kiely's stylised every day motifs with clean, modern takes on her passion for ‘60s and ‘70s design, and will be available worldwide in February 2014The collection will be available in Canada exclusively at gravitypope stores on Friday, Mar. 7.                                                                              
I always wanted to design a footwear collection and for me, Clarks was a very natural fit - particularly with their world renowned heritage and quality,” said Kiely. “Starting out from my original collection of bags and ready-to-wear, to the current wider lifestyle range I’m really proud of, it’s brilliant to now be able to add a stand-out shoe range to complete this. We worked closely with the amazing Clarks team to create our vision and I can’t wait to see women worldwide wearing them!
Incorporating the iconic colours of her collections - green, mustard, navy and red feature prominently - and a real sense of fun, the collection is representative both of Kiely’s design heritage and Clarks’ passion for style and substance. With a deliberate focus on craftsmanship, the styles also showcase Clarks’ credentials, while maintaining Kiely’s attention to detail and love of luxurious fabrics.

With a fan base spanning the Duchess of Cambridge, Alexa Chung, Zooey Deschanel, Kirsten Dunst and Karen Elson, it’s thought that the new collaboration will also be embraced by the fashion and influencer set, as well as existing Clarks customers.
