The latest motionball Gala - BRIGHTER happened past weekend at the Flames Central Calgary. Every year the motionball brings the awareness and support for the Special Olympics Foundation Canada, making dreams come true for intellectually disabled athletes. The theme this year, "BRIGHTER" focuses on the concept that participating the Gala and supporting the Special Olympics is a "smart choice" or "bright idea".
Many guests showed up at the event in fancy formal attires complemented by bold bright colors. The evening was filled with entertainments including live music performance, dance performance and a red hot Swimco swimwear fashion show which was perfect to counter that night's freezing cold weather.
The motionball raised $60,000 this year for the Special Olympics. The money was presented on stage received by the Special Olympians. As the night goes on, the venue quickly became jammed packed with people celebrating on the dance floor as DJ Skratch and DJ Rhyno entertained everyone with their beats. Even myself had a great time on the dance floor with some of my friends after a few cocktail drinks at the open bars.
The motionball Gala, another year of success. Congratulate and cheers to Paul Horton, the Director of Calgary's motionball Gala, Julie Gathercole and Katie Marks for the invitation to such an amazing and meaningful event.
