Continuing my emerging talents scouting at White Milano Show series, ROMBAUT OBJECTS was one of the footwear showcases that caught my attention. Without knowing the concept and idea behind it, I was initially attracted to its clean and contempoary designs, and modern twist to something that looked classic. Soon I realized ROMBAUT was all about protecting mother nature, an added bonus already on my score board, by using all natural and ecological friendly materials. 

The main medium that made ROMBAUT footwear is fig treebark, a biodegradable material collected from Uganda, Africa. The shoes are processed using natural color die, done in Tuscany. Subsequently complete with an Amazon rubber, and varnished with an organic water repellent as coating. An eco-friendly footwear collection goes well with the recycled cork/ water-resistant handbags I introduced in Part 1 of this blog series. 
Mats Rombaut, a 26 year-old Belgian designer is the brain child behind the innovative ROMBAUT. He had previoius experience in menswear and accessories development for fashion houses including Lanvin. Now based in Paris, Rombaut continues to florish and introduce "sustainable" footwear idea. Organic based material as wearable products perhaps is not a new concept, but I do believe quality and stylish footwear that is also eco-friendly such as ones by ROMBAUT is something quite revolutionary.

Reebok Unveils the Unnaturally Quick ZQUICK Collection

ZQUICK footwear collection design inspired by 
high performance z-rated racing tires
 

Leading fitness brand Reebok unveiled its latest running and training footwear assortment, the Reebok ZQUICK collection. This unique, natural motion product is inspired by the design of high-performance Z-rated tires found on exotic high-end sports cars. Z-rated tires are designed for use on cars that reach speeds in excess of 240 km/h with treads engineered for ultimate ground contact and the ability to rapidly move in and out of turns at high speed. The Reebok ZQUICK collection was also designed with these characteristics in mind.

ZQUICK Run and ZQUICK TR

The ZQUICK footwear collection includes the ZQUICK Run and ZQUICK TR models. Both shoes feature a unique foam compound and radically sliced geometry similar to that of a high-performance tire for ultimate ground contact and a lightweight, cushioned and more responsive ride. The underfoot grooves allow the midsole to flex and expand as the foot does, naturally increasing the edges in contact with the ground to allow rapid acceleration and easy control at high speed. For additional stability when accelerating in and out of turns, ZQUICK footwear feature a strategically placed nanoweb upper that keeps the foot supported and centred, providing enhanced control and stability so that the runner can move laterally with speed and quickness. Combined with a smooth, nearly seam-free upper for an irritation-free fit, the ZQUICK Run and ZQUICK TR provide a smooth, quick ride for any run or workout.

Energy is only worth what you do with it. The Naturals testimonial series seeks to find those who push themselves beyond everyday demands - who sometimes even make it look easy. The NERGIA idealists who insist on healthy living in their ongoing pursuit of balance and happiness. Patience, commitment and a whole lot of power, surfing takes as much stamina as it does concentration and humility. To learn about how surfers maintain their energy levels in the water VGS & NERGIA traveled to San Onofre, CA, home to one of the premiere surf breaks in the United States. They met five female surfers with various ability and let them do their thing. After a couple hours, as they needed a boost of energy, the girls tried NERGIA and monitored their body's reaction. Cameras rolled.
