Earlier in April was SS13/14 Sydney Fashion Week. I've been wanting to blog about it for quite some time, and finally I got the opportunity to talk about it. I love colorful garments, and never shy from encouraging people to add vibrant colors in their closet. Perhaps, this is one of the reasons why Camilla SS13/14 collection had attracted me. The runway show took the idea of ethnic chic at the literal level, given that it was held in Peruvian teepee tents. The looks were composed of bohemian and nomadic 70's hippie styles blending with African and South American native energies. It's a collection that sings summer heat, and radiates the beauty of tribal goddesses. Even Mick Jagger's daughter Georgia May Jagger, who was one of the models, well displayed inner ethnic persona on the runway.

As many YYC die-hard comics and sci-fi friends know, past weekend was the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo (or like I called it my annual #GeekFest). It's evident that this three-day weekend event is becoming more and more prominent and popular in this city. Even though I am a media personality, I have to praise the organizers this year for being much more well prepared than last year's event: no more over capicity and no more people getting rejected at the door even though they brought tickets and passes. Thank God, and a big round of applause.
Comic book legend Stan Lee was again one of the guests this year, and sadly I had no luck to get a chance for his autograph (his ops were well sold out weeks prior). However I got to meet the coolest guys from my favourite TV shows and cult movies - like Captain Jack from Torchwood and Dr. Who John Barrowman, Johnny Rico from Starship Troopers Casper Van Dien, and Daryl from Walking Dead Norman Reedus, and finally, X-files goddess Gillian Anderson. Fans also got an up close and personal encounter with Game of Thrones casts. I liked this year how they had different locations throughout for different activities - like the "gaming center" at the Big Four, while vendors are all located within BMO. Also impressed with the artists line-up, although it seems less concentrated this year than my previous experience. Overall, it was an awesome year - be sure to check my review and more footage of the comic expo on Fairchild Television in this coming week!! :)
