The month of March is a special month for women, celebrating their contribution to economic, political and social achievements as well as gaining the general respect and appreciation in the society. It's a perfect time to focus special charities dedicated to them as well. In addition to the breast health movement like Bust-A-Move which I was an ambassador for, I was invited to the LOVE Her Fashion Gala - a charity event that support the Ovarian Cancer Canada (OCC). OCC is the only national charitable organization solely dedicated to overcoming ovarian cancer - the most fatal women's cancer. The organization continues to build a mission to raise awareness of the disease, donate funding to research, and provide support to women and their families with ovarian cancer. It was the first time YYC held its own LOVE Her Fashion Gala at Hotel Arts
The night was hosted by philanthropist W. Brett Wilson and Canadian comedienne Jessica Holmes. The fashion portion was a runway show showcasing Judith & Charles collection, shoes by Stuart Weitzman. Finally, there was a spectacular performance by violinist Sophie Serafino, followed by live and silent auctions, which money raised goes to the OCC. The night extended with a VIP reception at the Raw Bar, where delicious desserts and cocktails were accompanied by live music/vocal performances. I also got a chance to rub shoulders with former Canadian Idol Ruben Young. The OCC accepts donation at any given time, please visit their website at: Big thanks to the OCC PR team for inviting me to be a part of this heart-warming and meaningful event.
