Dean Davidson Jewelry at YYC Holt Renfrew

Binzento Vincente met Canadian jewelry designer Dean Davidson when he visited Calgary past weekend. Brought with him was his new accessories collection sold exclusively at Holt Renfrew. YYC is not a foreign place to Mr. Davidson, since prior to becoming a jewelry designer, he was an alumnus of Alberta College of Art and Design. He'd also previously worked along side with Canadian fashion designer Paul Hardy, where he designed a capsule collection for him.
Although having been reading about his work from various publications, this was my first time physically seeing some of Mr. Davidson's work. Sterling silver coated with 18K gold, in combination of unique colourful gemstones were mostly the types of materials Mr. Davidson use for his jewelries. The designs of the current pieces displayed a soft elegant vibe. The utilization of the 18K gold added "strength" to the collection, which gave rise an overall balance of power and femininity.
My favourite piece was the gold/pearl white beads bracelets. The classic style, which reminded me of religious buddha beads designs, transformed into something trendy with the added "D" for Dean Davidson charm. Dean Davidson jewelry collection will be sold at YYC Holt Renfrew for a limited time only. His work can also be purchased in stores listed here: http://deandavidson.myshopify.com/pages/stores

It was a pleasure to meet Mr. Davidson. I liked the beads bracelet so much that I even bought one for myself. Hopefully next time he'll bring more of his men's line with him during his next visit.
